Benjamin was the son of William and Priscilla Bennett-Carpenter. He was born on the same day as his mother died. Benjamin was born 20 October 1663 in Rehoboth (Bristol) Massachusetts. He had three siblings: John, William and Priscilla. Hisfather remarried (Miriam Searles) and he had nine half-siblings: Josiah, Nathaniel, Daniel, Noah, Miriam, Obadiah, Ephraim, Hannah and Abigail.
Benjamin was a farmer. He, with family, moved from Rehoboth to Northampton, Massachusetts in 1708 and soon after to Coventry, Connecticut. On June 22, 1708, he made a quitclaim deed to his brother Nathaniel for lands left to him by hisfather, William Carpenter of Rehoboth. July 1, 17089, "now in Coventry," Connecticut, "later of Northampton," when he quitclaimed to his brother William land that fell to him by the will of his father, William, of Rehoboth.
He married Hannah STRONG. (It was noted by Anne Rose that Jedadiah, Hannah's son, b. 1697, is an ancestor of England's Princess Diana, whose children will inherit the English kingdom).
Benjamin had ten children: Prudence (twin) b. 13 July 1692; Freedom (twin) b. 13 July 1692; Amos b. 6 November 1693, married 23 October 1718 to Deborah Long, died 1793; Bewnjamin Junior born 03 October 1695, married 12 April 1726-27 to RebeccaSmith; Jedadiah born 01 October 1697, married 24 May 1725 to Mary Brown, died 15 December 1731 (This is Princess Diana's ancestor.); Hannah, born 15 August 1699, married 06 October 1730 to David Round; Eliphalet born 16 October 1701 and died 28August 1702; Eliphalet born 29 Novembeer 1703,married first 01 November 1727 to Elizabeth Andrews, second on 26 October 1773 to Abigail Ladd, and died 22 February 1792; Noah born 24 December 1705, married first Kesiah; second marriage September1744 to Mrs. Elizabeth Curtis; Elizabeth born 15 Juen 1707 and Ebenezer, who was the first white child born (09 November 1709) in Coventry, Connecticut--Ebenezer was a farmer, constable and held town offices, married 1739 Eunice Thompson inCoventry, Conn and in his will, dated 16 January 1777 names 11 children. He and his wife both died of "spotted fever" on 30 January 1777 and were buried in one grave.
