"according to Oxford University records he came from Hereford; had brothers
James, John and William; was Canon of Westbury on Trym, Gloucester; Vicar of
Mixbury in Oxford and Trottescliffe, Kent; Vicar of Ramsbury, Wiltshire and
Vicar General to the Bishop of Salisbury. In his will it mentions sons Robert
and Peter. He was educated at Oxford and served the church in Westbury. His
descendants are believed to include the Simon carpenter who was located in
Verginia in 1658 and Queen Elizabeth II." from corres. w/Helen Carpenter Burns
