Joseph Haines, William Hanies & Halloway Cushman crossed the Mississippi River on May 10, 1851 en route for the Oregon country. At the Missouri River joined Capt Butrick's company, which consisted of 27 wagons , 54 men and six or seven boysbetween 12 and 20 years old. There were seven or eight families in the train. Crossed the Snake River near olf Fort Boise on Sept 1, 1851. Arrived at the Dalles on Sept. 19, 1851.
