@ THE BLISS BOOK by C.A. Hoppin, recorded Dorothy's father as John Wheatley, who was a mercer, and also a master warden of the "Company of Mercers, Woolendrapers, Taylors, Innkeepers and Fullers." In 1619 said John Wheatley was the bailiff ofthe Borough of Daventry, Northamptonshire, a position similar to "Mayor".

Frank Wheatleigh was born in March of 1562. He was a mercer, a member of the "Company of Mercers, Woolendrapers, Taylors, Innkeepers and Fullers," of which he was a master warden in 1619 and 1634. He was also bailiff (mayor) of Daventryin 1619 according to "The Bliss Book", by Hoppin, and according to papers in the Public Records Office, London, his land was worth about 300 pounds. He was recorded as paying 4/- on Lay Subsidy Rolls 157-378 and 157-411, the latter in 1627according to Hoppin, 158-

He married about 1590, Mary Fienes granddaughter of Lord Dacre, who was executed in1541. They lived in Maiden Newton Dorset (Tingsboro, Somerset, England).
