Mrs. Helen Snell Glass, 60, died at 7:45 p.m. on March 5, 1972 at her home on Route 2, Afton.

She was born May 21, 1911, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth Cooke Snell.

She was a member of Rodes United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Glass of Afton, a step-mother, Mrs. Mamie Baber Snell of Afton; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Doris) Pennington of Camden, Ark., Mrs. Hunter (Olive) Poole of Raleigh, N.E. and Miss Helen Glass ofManassas; three sons, Charles Ray Glass of Afton, Filmore Glass and Calsin Glass, both of Richmond; three sisters, Mrs. Page (Marie) Wine and Mrs. George (Catherine) Balsley, both of Waynesboro, and Mrs. William (Frances) Albright of Grensboro,N.E.; one brother, Austin Snell of Hudson, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.

A funeral srvice will b held at 3: p.m. Wednesday in Rodes United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Amos Rideout, the Rev. John Chafee and the Rev. Clarence Philpott, with interment in the church cemetery.

The body will remain at McDow-Tyree Funeral Home and will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time.
