The death of William Mann Page occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Kline on Basic heights, today at 1:15 pm.

Mr. Page was born near Cumberland Court house, Virginia, on manhood moved to Staunton, February 11, 1859 where he engaged in business. While there he met and married Miss Rosa Glenn, and going from Staunton to Pennsylvania where he was engagedin the tobacco business. They moved to Basic City during the boom days and he had been a resident here until his death.

He was town treasurer of Basic for 18 years, a chrter member of Basic order of Odd Fellows and a devoted and active member of the Basic M.E. church, South. He was a member of the official board and board of trustees until his health made itnecessary for him to withdraw.

Mr. Page was widely know to the people of this city and community who are saddened to hear of his death. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. I.A. Wine and Mrs. William Kline of East Waynesboro; a son, R. G. Page of Roanoke. His wife prededed him toher grave twelve years ago. There is also one sister, Mrs. Bettie page of East Waynesboro and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from the Basic M.E. church on Saturday at two o'clock. Interment in Riverview cemetery.

A large concourse of friends and relatives gathered at the Basic Methodist church this afternoon to pay last tribute to William Mann Page, a prominent local citizen and a member of one of Basic's first families.

Mr. Page had been a faithful and devoted member of Basic Methodist church for many hears and was a member of the church official board and board of trustees and also city treasurer for 18 years.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. H. Pearson, the pastor of the church. Two favorite hymns were sung by the choir and Mrs. Clara Nolan sang "The Green Hill" by Peace.

Active pallbearers were Dr. R. S. Griffith, T. W. Sheppard, R. E. Berry, C. M. Faber, W. H. Yeago, and M. E. Swortzel: honorary pallbearers, E. W. Irvine, George Harmon, John McMillan, Horace Grinstead, J. W. Myers, John Fry, G. C. Hall, HarveyFurr, Sam Kingsberry, Raymond Wine, T. H. McCambridge, and Mr. Cookus.

The service at the grave was in charge of the Basic lodge of Odd Fellos, of which Mr. page was a charter member. Interment was in Riverview cemetery.
