I can't tell you how disappointed we were that you did not come. Billy met the train in the morning and Mildred and I in the afternoon yesterday. The trouble with you is that you need a rest, so just you come on and let that "Loulie and Ike"learn to cut out. Tell her I soon found out why she didn't put both sleeves in the kimona, as she had made both for one arm. But I soon made a new sleeve and had it in. Then from the pieces madea short one for Mildred, bordered all aroundwith the green and she is so proud of it. I've been enjoying mine very much indeed. Mary came back Tuesday and that afternoon made two blue outing skirts for Mildred that I had cut out, while I finished the little eagne(I can't read it) Untilthe end of the week I hadn't much cooking to do, finishing up the turkey and roast beef, salmon croquettes and I still have a supper from the chicken. But I've put in good time mending and making something to keep Sweetie warm. She does lookright Dutchy though, as i made the skirts rather long. I cut two heels out of five pairs of hopelessly darned stockings, using the old as patterns, cut out new toes and heels from the heavy soles of Billy's worn out socks (in fact, I had usedthe tops of the same socks to make stockings for Mildred sometime ago). I flattened out the seams as we always did in footing. I have five new pairs of stockings. Tell Lou she would better practice mending some of Ike's many worn out onesthat they spoke of.

Billy has written John to send the book to Ike. We had a fine drive this afternoon, 15 miles. Anyway, It wasn't cool in the open country, although the sun did not shine much. The pike is fine, but we got off the pike some, found some mud, also long icy hills through the woods. The horse was a fine one and on the pike just sailed, if she was quite a big horse. Mildred didn't sleep very much, seemed to enjoy it all thoroughly, laughed and was as jolly as you please.

Last Sunday we discovered why she had been cross in the night time. She has a lower jaw tooth through. The one above is just about here. I had no idea the lower one was near through.

Am glad you like to aprons. Hope the socks suit Daddy. Mary is dressing the doll for Mildred. Joe made the drawers last night. Spent the night with us. Had quite a letter from Nancy Collins, also from Rosie. She says they never tell heranything from home. Wonder if she knows the present state of affairs at home. I've put the clock up on the book case, it does very well. It is certainly a beauty. When a paper comes out here, will send Ike's mother one. Can't you send me afew papers once more, if you get any. Billy said today he was certainly going to get a pepr, fot it is dreadful to feel so dumb, never know anything. But he never takes time to read a daily paper and all the past week has worked as late asever, engraving and going over accounts and settling.

Think Lou might have written. It makes me feel right cheap when folks ask about her, etc. to say I haven't heard from her since she left.
